It must be Spring! Robins!

© All Rights Reserved
I could not believe my eyes! A whole hoard of robins was in my front yard. I ran and got my camera to take pictures, to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me. My sister Mary had been in this area a few weeks ago, and said she saw a group of birds that looked like robins, but that they couldn’t have been because they’re supposed to go south for the winter. I think this must be the same group. Of course, perhaps this means the magnetic poles are flipping. I think the birds use the poles for navigation. Fortunately, it sounds like a magnetic pole flip won’t be a doomsday scenario for the inhabitants of the Earth.

This week’s Soartful challenge was “The Little Black Dress.” Her dress doesn’t quite qualify, but I found her during my search, and decided to use her.

"Time" - Postcard

This week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge was “Time.”

The chest swells
Breath catches in the heart
You feel so far away
But you’re only seconds apart
From that defining moment
Life will never be the same
Oh, crash into reason
Crash into reason
Crash into reason

Lyrics from Crash Into Reason

"Heart Breaker" – 4x4

This week’s 4x4 Friday challenge was “Boy and a Bird.” I wasn’t sure what this theme was supposed to be, so I sneaked a heart into it, because I wanted to do last week’s challenge but missed the deadline. (This wasn’t one of the ideas I had for that one though.) The words are from the song Break Your Heart.

"Water Fountain"

This week’s Three Muses challenge was “Water.” I created a three level water fountain using several images that were not originally water fountains. I spent much longer on this than I planned to, but I missed several good themes for this challenge site, and I didn’t want to miss another one.

"Tiger Tag"

This week’s Tag Tuesday challenge number 33 was “Polka Dots AND Stripes.” I re-used the same tiger I had in my Monday ATC, because I really like him. Since I don’t normally think of polka dots and stripes going well together, I decided to stretch some boundaries on this even further, so I also used a patterned background for part of this. I think the end result harmonized well. The polka dots came out a little subtle looking, but they are there. (This time the print out itself came out a little lighter than the original image, and the separate sections of the tag aren’t as distinct as they should be, so I might need to replace my color cartridge again.)

This week’s 4x4 Friday challenge was “New Year’s Eve Blue Moon, Renewal, and Dreams.” This is my first entry for this challenge. I used several images and shapes to create this, along with a photo I took of the Blue Moon, which I enlarged.

"Blue Moon Pagan Rituals"

© All Rights Reserved
This week’s Macabre Monday challenge #019 was “Moonglow.” My scene depicts a witch concocting a potion in preparation for a Pagan Ritual at the stroke of midnight on the Blue Moon (Dec 31, 2009). A devil sits nearby. The Blue Moon shines in the background.

As I was getting ready to post this, I re-read the challenge and realized the moon was supposed to be the main feature, so this might not be fully compliant. If I get time, I’ll try to make another one, since the moon is one of my favorite themes!
